Try The Lobster Bisk and Seared Scallops. The flavor is wonderful. The salmon cooked on their wood fire grill is equally as good. Happy hour in the bar gets you a buck a shuck if you enjoy oysters. Great food, awesome service, definitely a little pricey but well worth it.
We were promptly re-seated but had another server. When our waitress Kimberlee came over it started our nice, but then the pace of her voice sped up to a point where it was very hard to understand her when she explained the menu and the specials. We've been to this establishment numerous times and never had a server speed talk like Kimberlee. The prior servers usually took their time explaining the menu.
I LOVE this place. Great food, nice ambiance, wonderful staff. The lunch menu is a steal, and you have to get a bowl, NOT cup, of the lobster bisque.
I made a reservation for our Anniversary by using the "open table" app on my phone and even made that entry on the comments. Upon our arrival we were seated in the room to the left of the bar and after a few minutes, we requested to be seated in the main part or the restaurant instead of having the listen to the noise of the bar and the speaker above our head listen to music.
Couple of things, dear Bristol restaurant:
1. If a customer comes in and asks for a table and there is a table available, seat them. Asking them to wait to be seated until the whole party arrives and giving away that table to people that arrived in the meantime is just a poor way to handle seating arrangements. Your hostess needs training and people skills.
Very pricey. Service (James) was good, the food was decent but insanely overpriced, takes a long time even when the restaurant is not as busy, menu is relatively small. Poor handling of seating, no concern for possible food allergies of customers.
2. If a customer asks for no dressing on a salad you're charging $30 for, and you accidentally drip some dressing on the plate, remake the salad. Same with adding ingredients that the customer asked to be taken off and then just picking them off the plate instead of remaking the dish. People have food allergies that should be taken seriously, especially in an establishment that sets prices, and thus expectations, so high.
Usually when we've come here for a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, we usually were offered a complimentary dessert and a comment recognizing the special occasion. On other visits, the server usually asks if this is a special occasion as the reason for our visit. Before, the servers usually took time with us and treated us special as a customer. That never happened. I left disappointed.
This place is a very nice restaurant. I had the opportunity of being taken there for my Thanksgiving dinner. Now from what I under- stand ,They do buffet style on Thanksgiving & definitely have the works. Unfortunately my taste is very simple, & Bristol has a very elite menu.so my taste didn't go well with ,what I call exotic. But please don't take me wrong, this is a very good restaurant, you can tell by its clientele & the prices really won't hurt your pockets. Try it you'll probably like/LOVE it
